CMT’s Diameter-to-Diameter Roll Marking Machines integrate emerging technology

Columbia Marking Tools (CMT) has updated its Diameter-to-Diameter Roll Marking Machines. These heavy-duty machines, from 14 to 81 in. long and 3 to 8-1/2 in. dia., can mark up to 55 characters per line in either a 1/4- or 5/16-in. character size.

Servomotors have been added to provide faster marking times and more precise positioning. A new laser alignment projection system identifies where the marking will be on the part. Light screens offer area guarding to protect operators.

Other additions include concave numbering heads for serial numbering, built-in 2-in. stroke ejection motion to facilitate unloading, upgraded programmable logic controls, and random part numbering from a tare weight scale or MES.
