Based on an article, the first coronavirus cases in the state of Florida were reported on March 1. The article reveals that two residents in Florida had tested positive for the novel coronavirus after the state started administering COVID-19 tests across the state beginning February 29.

Since then, the number of COVID-19 cases in the state had escalated. Fast forward to May, the state is currently in the process of jumpstarting its economy by allowing businesses across the state to reopen. Based on an article, the state of Florida had received criticism for reopening as early as May 4. It was during that time that indoor dining in restaurants was already permitted by the state. However, only a limited number of diners were permitted to dine at a time.

After permitting businesses to reopen since May 4, social distancing and other COVID-19 preventive measures were implemented across the state to prevent the spread of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19.

At Present

Currently, the state had already permitted people to visit the beach, work-out in gyms, get their haircuts from beauty salons, and eating out in restaurants. With the majority of the businesses and public spaces in the state being opened again to the people, there may be questions as to how the people from Florida are doing amid the threat of the COVID-19.

Based on an article, many Floridians who were allowed to slowly get back to their daily routine are obeying COVID-19 preventive guidelines such as limiting mass gatherings, obeying social distancing rules, and wearing face masks. It means that those who are following coronavirus preventive rules are less likely to get infected with the deadly novel coronavirus.

Three weeks after the state of Florida had given the go-signal to businesses across the state to reopen, there are still COVID-19 cases being reported in the state. The state is still not COVID-19 free as coronavirus infections are still being reported by the state.

Based on an article, there may be hope for normality in Florida amid social distancing, sanitation, and other COVID-19 preventive activities. However, the article warns that there is still a possibility for a significant increase of COVID-19 cases across the state as its residents are still getting back to their routine before the pandemic. It means that the conclusion that it is already safe to reopen and that another COVID-19 outbreak will not occur is still too early to make.
