The Problems of Child Care Services in Florida During The Lockdown Order in Florida

Based on an article, child care service businesses in Florida had experienced difficulties amid the pandemic as they were allowed to continue during the widespread lockdown orders across the country. It was reported that many of the state's child care service businesses had taken care of the children of those who were permitted to work during the lockdown orders such as police and medical workers. Furthermore, the article reveals that there is a child care service in the state that asks the parents of the children to give a written document every day stating that they had not been in close contact with anyone who contracted the deadly SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19.

As child care service businesses were classified in the state of Florida as essential, many businesses offering child care services for their community felt that they were not supported by the government. According to the article, as many essential businesses were provided with various personal protective equipment or PPE, many of them did not receive any.

Based on an article, the earnings of child care businesses had also dropped as the state had limited mass gatherings to less than 11 people per room. This is a drop of more than half of the total children a child care service classroom can accommodate. The article reveals that classrooms can accommodate 25 children in one classroom. This drop in profits and incurring losses had led to many child care businesses to close in the state.
