NY Post | George A. King III: The Yankees would probably rather be playing baseball right now, just like everyone else in MLB, but they have gotten one benefit from sitting out the delayed season so far. Several key members of the club are nearing a return to full health, including Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton and James Paxton. Paxton especially benefits from returning in time to start the remade season, since he’ll be a free agent by year’s end.

NY Daily News | Kristie Ackert: Before baseball went on hold, this would’ve been a significant moment in the schedule. The Yankees and Astros were set to open up a three-game set in Houston on Friday, the first meeting between the two clubs since the revelations about the Astros’ cheating scandal. Many people were expecting some fireworks from this matchup, but we’ll have to wait to see if they launch another time.

NJ.com | Brendan Kuty: The Yankees family lost a member of it’s alumni, as former player and GM Bob Watson passed away on Thursday at age 74. Brian Cashman and representatives of the Yankees released statements remembering Watson’s legacy with the team, and the kind of person he was.
