One Seriously Injured in Car vs Tree Crash on Powers Rd Near Morning Star Church, Huntley

Police and firefighter/paramedics from Huntley and sheriff’s deputies from the Kane County Sheriff’s Office responded about 9:22 p.m. Friday May 8, 2020 to a report of a serious crash with injuries and possible entrapment on Powers Road near the Morning Star Church. Initially the crash was reported to be located at Route 47 and Powers Road, but the crash was actually located on Powers Road, just east of Morning Star Church, 41W350 Powers Road in Huntley. The crash possibly involved a Nissan Sentra.

Huntley Fire Protection District’s first crew discovered the crash about 9:29 p.m. On arrival the crew reported a single vehicle crash with heavy damage.

A second ambulance was requested by about 9:33 p.m. for two additional patients with injuries that were initially thought to be less serious.

A seriously injured female teen patient was extricated by about 9:38 p.m. The teen patient was transported to Northwestern Medicine Family Medicine Huntley, and then transferred by a LifeNet helicopter to Level 1 Trauma Center Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. The extent of the injuries involving a second and third person were initially unknown.
