Again no new cases in Sabah

Kota Kinabalu: Sabah recorded no new positive Covid-19 case the past two consecutive days, maintaining the tally at 311.

There is a rise in recovered cases by five which brought the total to 212 on Sunday, compared to 207 on Saturday. There are 95 (active cases) at designated hospitals throughout Sabah compared to 100 active cases reported on Saturday.

Of the five recovered cases, two were in Penampang and Kinabatangan while one in Tuaran.

Of the 95, some 89 patients are still being treated while six have been re-admitted and fatalities remained at four.

Tawau topped the list of cumulative cases with 81, followed by Kota Kinabalu (47), Lahad Datu (42), Tuaran (22), Kinabatangan (22), Sandakan (21), Keningau (16), Penampang (12), Beaufort (11), Putatan (8), Kota Belud (5), Papar (4), Sipitang (3), Ranau(3), Tambunan (3) and Semporna (2).

Meanwhile, Malaysia recorded another day of higher Covid-19 recoveries than new cases, with 100 patients discharged Sunday.

Health D-G Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also announced there were no new casualties, meaning the death toll remains at 98.

A total of 38 new cases were recorded today, bringing the total to 5,780.

Noor Hisham said 36 patients are currently being treated in the intensive care unit (ICU), with 15 cases needing respiratory assistance.

Some 1,820 people are still being treated.
