SIPITANG: Police arrested a Brunei man, 34, and a Lundayeh woman, 37, in a house for possessing five packets of syabu during Op Covid-19 monitoring at Jalan Pantai Sindumin near here on April 25.

District Police Chief Champin Piuh said, the two suspects were in one of the rooms in the house when police conducted an investigation.

“Police found a plastic packaging containing four small packets with crystals believed to be syabu.

“Some 5.72gm of syabu worth RM500 was seized and the two suspects detained and taken to Sipitang Police Headquarters for further investigation to determine if suspects are involved in the drug syndicate in the area.

“They will be investigated under section 39A (1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952,” he said when contacted on Tuesday.

According to Champin the man had two previous records related to drug offences under Sec. 12(2) (a) and Section 15(1) (a) ADB 1952.

Meanwhile, at around 5.00pm the same day, police on roadblock duty in Kampung Merintaman arrested three Filipinos, including a woman who had no documents and suspected under the influence syabu.

“The three suspects are still in delusions and have no valid reasons to be outside,” he said.
