Margaret (90) breaks through £250,000 mark in staircase fundraiser

Margaret Payne's Suilven climbing challenge has smashed through the £250,000 mark after inspiring people all over the world.
The 90-year-old, who lives at Ardvar, Assynt, had hoped to raise £10,000 for the NHS and Highland Hospice by climbing the equivalent height of the Sutherland summit on the stairs at her house.
She began her challenge on Easter Sunday and hopes to complete the 2398ft climb within a couple of months.
When she does she will have climbed her stairs 282 times.
Her determination to raise funds for the NHS during the Covid-19 coronavirus lockdown has struck a chord with the general public. She had already passed the £200,000 by Saturday.
And as of 10.30am on Monday, she had surpassed the quarter-of-a-million-pound mark – raising £255,999.05, or £311,462.61 once Gift Aid is factored in.
