March 2020 Herb of the Month: White Sage

March is the month of preparation for Spring’s blossoms. It is a time to getting rid of what is no longer needed, coming up from beneath the covers of winter and welcoming in the warmth and new life of the upcoming season. All that is clingy, including clingy toxic people, should be shed in order to foster peace in your world before you welcome in the newness and freshness of the season into your sacred space.

White sage is often used to cleanse a space, to rid a space of anything that is unwanted. Now is the perfect time to rid your space of energies that are not healthy for you or your sacred space. Let sage help you to take the wisdom you’ve learned from the death of winter and transform it into active knowing--the life represented by the anticipation of spring. During this season, sage will help you connect with new forms of life and honor the reemergence of the goddess from the underworld (“winter”).

Once sage clears way the death of winter--that which no longer serves you---then you can begin again with a new, clean canvas. What will you paint on your canvas this season? Will you allow nature to guide, teach and uplift you? Continue to use white sage regularly to keep your space safe, clean and devoid of heavy or unfavorable energy!
