John Henry,
Austin Andrews and
Drake Dobbs in the 1,000-point club.
Each of the impact seniors has played a crucial role in the team's success this season. The Eagles broke into MaxPreps Top 25 national rankings for the first time in program history this week and upset No. 6 Minnehaha Academy (Minneapolis) 78-64 on Tuesday.
Eden Prairie relies on a balanced offensive attack as all four player averaged double figures: Dobbs (18.8 points per game), Henry (16.5), Andrews (16.2) and Christensen (12.7).
All four will play at the college level with Dobbs, a 6-foot-1 guard, headed to Liberty University, 6-5 guard Henry going to University of Sioux Falls, 6-6 forward Andrews bound for Minnesota-Duluth and 6-7 forward Connor Christensen committed to Dartmouth.
At 24-0, Eden Prairie has two regular season games remaining and is looking to become the first unbeaten state champion since Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa won a Class A title in 2012. The Eagles are a Class 4A team and won't see 3A Minnehaha Academy in the postseason.
All four 1,000-point scorers contributed double figures in the No. 23 Eagles' victory over Minnehaha on Tuesday as Henry led all-scorers with 29 points, Dobbs chipped in 20 points, Andrews finished with 17 and Christensen scored 10.
While the Eagles have hoisted jumped on the national stage this season and will rise in next week's rankings, one last accomplishment is expected from this special senior class — capture the program's first state title.
