Police say a disagreement over a marijuana deal led to the shooting death of two men in Antioch on Friday night.

De Arious A. Harris, 23, of Antioch, and Craige Strickland, 18, of Memphis, were killed in the altercation that occurred shortly before midnight in the parking lot of Kroger at 5319 Mount View Road, according to a Saturday news release from the Metro Nashville Police Department.

Witnesses who accompanied Harris to the meetup said the two men had arranged to meet at the parking lot for a marijuana deal, according to MNPD. An altercation there led to an exchange of gunfire, and detectives believe the two men shot each other. Two guns were recovered.

Officers responding to the shots fired call at the Kroger were redirected to a nearby Waffle House restaurant where Harris had been driven following the shooting. He was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead from a gunshot to the chest.

Soon after, officers were called to Nashville General Hospital, where Strickland had been taken with a gunshot to the head. He was also pronounced dead.

MNPD South Precinct detectives are continuing to investigate.
