KOTA KINABALU: A rubber tapper, who pleaded guilty in the Sessions Court here yesterday to raping his daughter for the past six years between April 2013 when she was 15-year-old and to October, last year, will be sentenced on March 16.
Judge Azreena Aziz adjourned the sentencing of the 49-year-old accused at the request of the prosecution since a medial report used in this case was not ready.
The accused admitted to raping his biological daughter at a hut on a farm in a village in Sipitang between April, 2013 and October, 2019.
He was charged under Section 376 (3) of the Penal Code which carries a jail term of up to 30 years and whipping, upon conviction.
The accused will be further detained pending his sentencing.
Earlier, the prosecution objected to bail on the grounds that both the accused and the victim are staying in a same house.
The prosecution also asked for another date for sentencing, pending the production of the said report.
