The Department of Physical Sciences at Thompson Rivers University (TRU) invites applications for a tripartite tenure-track faculty position in Organic Chemistry at the rank of Assistant Professor to commence July 1, 2020.
TRU offers BSc. degrees with Canadian Society for Chemistry accredited Majors in Chemistry and Environmental Chemistry. TRU also offers an interdisciplinary Major in Chemical Biology. Successful candidates will teach 100-level general chemistry as well as Organic Chemistry lectures and labs at the 200-, 300- and 400- level. The primary research focus will be in synthetic organic chemistry with possible interests in green and sustainable chemistry, materials science, or other. The research program will be primarily focused on undergraduate students, and graduate students in the Master's of Environmental Science Program. Applicants should have a commitment to excellence in teaching and undergraduate curriculum development.
Hiring for this position will be subject to final budgetary approval. PhD in Chemistry (or near completion). Established teaching experience at the post-secondary level is an asset.
