Target apologizes for printing a batch of 'Minnesota Badgers' onesies

Given how effectively the state of Wisconsin has recruited in the state of Minnesota recently, it makes sense that the youngest generation of Minnesotans would have some mascot confusion.

Target released a statement to WCCO-TV in Minneapolis on Monday night, apologizing for some misprinted baby onesies bearing the name "Minnesota Badgers" in the familiar University of Minnesota maroon and gold. Minnesota is of course home to the Golden Gophers, while Big Ten rival Wisconsin is represented by the Badgers.

In the statement, Target wrote: "Color us red. As a Minnesota-based company, we know we are home to the Gophers.”

The misprinted onesies have been removed from Target stores.
