In a series analysing who will line up in each position for all 16 teams in the opening round of the Telstra Premiership in 2020, NRL.com looks at grand finalists the Canberra Raiders.

NRL.com says: The recruitment of Curtis Scott has resulted in Joey Leilua going to Wests Tigers while George Williams is a straight swap at halfback for Aidan Sezer.

John Bateman is expected to miss the first six or seven rounds as he recovers from shoulder surgery, so Corey Horsburgh is set to move to the edge with Joseph Tapine to lock the scrum.

Ryan Sutton took the early guilty plea for a shoulder charge in Canberra's trial against the Bulldogs and will miss the first round. Luke Bateman is in line for a bench spot.

Jamie Soward says: Curtis Scott takes over from Joey Leilua and partners with Bailey Simonsson on that right edge. The biggest test for the Raiders is living up to the hype of last year and how they bottle that.

The adjustment of George Williams at halfback will be of some concern if he doesn't jell early.
