Mr Consistent continued to be just that in 2019 as he produced quality performances while only missing 36 minutes of football across the season.

A rock in defence, Whitehead had the second most effective one-on-one tackles across the NRL and also made 880 tackles for the season.

While his defence was clearly a standout feature of his game, Whitehead also had the equal second highest number of try assists for the Raiders with six to his name. His diving effort to set up a try for Seb Kris against the Warriors was a particular highlight.

With key players absent due to State of Origin, Whitehead lifted and took on a key role which was particularly evident against the Bulldogs in Round 12 as he made close to 50 tackles.

The Englishman also become one of the quickest players to reach 100 NRL appearances for the club as he brought up his milestone in the preliminary final against South Sydney. In four seasons at the club, he’s only missed one match.

Whitehead Hits 100

The highlights continued off the field as he became a fan favourite with Roaming Elliott and was hilariously presented with a scooter for his birthday after his previous one had been stolen.
