The prime minister has moved to reassure voters he understands the bushfires are a natural emergency and he accepts the link between climate change and an extended fire season. But he dismissed the international censure of his government’s climate policies in a new ranking of 57 countries as 'not credible', reiterating that 'Australia is meeting and beating our emissions reduction targets'.
