JonWatkins_BLThe publishers of Businesslife have appointed a new Editor-in-Chief to the magazine. Jon Watkins (pictured) will take up the role on 2 January 2020. He replaces Eila Madden, who is moving on to pursue new projects.

Jon is well known to the Businesslife team and its readers, having been a regular contributor to the magazine for the past three years. He has been a financial journalist for nearly 20 years, during which time he has worked with investment and financial services brands including UBS, Zurich, BlackRock, Experian, the Institute of Financial Services and EY.

Jon has worked for a variety of content marketing agencies and also in-house at Lloyd's of London, the world's biggest insurance market. Most recently, he led the Business and Luxury Brands division at SevenC3.

Carl Methven, co-founder of Businesslife, commented: “We are sorry to see Eila move on, she has been instrumental in evolving the publication to its current format and it has been a privilege to work with her on this. We look forward to welcoming Jon to the team in what will be a busy and transformational year as we launch our new publication into the Asia marketplace.”

Eila Madden, Editor-in-Chief of Businesslife, added: “It’s been a real pleasure to work with the BL team and its readers over the past 15 months. I’ve been struck by the passion and pride that the Channel Islands business community has for what it does.

"I’ve also been heartened by the support and positive feedback the magazine regularly gets from readers. Jon is an extremely experienced and talented editor, and I’m delighted to be able to hand the baton on to him.”

Jon Watkins, incoming Editor-in-Chief, said: "Businesslife is a fantastically insightful and authoritative publication and, having been involved as a contributor for some time, I am delighted to have the opportunity to grow my involvement at such an exciting time for the Channel Islands and the magazine.

"I’m looking forward to working closely with Carl and the team at Businesslife to continue Eila’s great work and to explore further opportunities to develop the magazine and its related events."

Jon, who is based in London, will be working closely with Eila and the rest of the BL team over the next month to ensure a smooth transition.
