What does "American" design look like now? The United States may be too large and too diverse for a sweeping description. Different places have their own styles and sensibilities. Here, we look at objects made in the five major regions of the country, meet some of the people behind the products, and ask a few noteworthy architects to tell us what qualities define design in the areas where they live and work.
