Diego Godin’s Champions League experience could prove fundamental for Inter in tonight’s crucial Champions League group stage match against Borussia Dortmund according to a report in today’s paper edition of Roman newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

Despite being 33-years-old, the Uruguayan set himself a challenge by leaving Atletico Madrid and joining Inter where he has had to try and get used to playing in a three man defence.

In his adaptation process to the new system, he has showed some signs of struggle but Inter manager Antonio Conte and other staff are not worried and have no doubts about how important Godin can be and know that he can deliver when it matters most.

Godin has made six appearances across all competitions this season. In 425 minutes on the field, the 133-time Uruguayan international, has provided one assist and played a part in Inter keeping three clean sheets when he has played.
