If you haven't heard, Victoria Beckham is currently blowing up the beauty world with her eponymous new makeup line, which includes a stunning selection of clean, luxury staples like eyeliner, eye shadow, and now, arguably most exciting of all: lip products. Called Your Perfect Pout, the beauty mogul's second makeup collection consists of six neutral-toned Lip Definers and a Bitten Lip Tint, the latter of which is an innovative gel-like formula that enhances all lip tones. To learn more about the dreamy new two-step lip line, Allure sat down with the former Spice Girl, along with a number of beauty editors, ahead of the launch. Keep reading for all the details.

As a pop star in the height of the '90s, Beckham was known for her classic '90s nude-brown lip — and she still is. "I've talked for so many years about being completely obsessed with the perfect nude lip," Beckham says with passion to a room of beauty editors. "In fact, I found a picture yesterday from when I was in the Spice Girls with my shiny dark bob putting on my lip liner, and here we are, years and years later, and I'm still obsessed."

The multi-hyphenate explains that she's always been interested in what constitutes "the perfect nude," and this curiosity is ultimately why she ended up wanting to develop her own collection. "Everybody deserves to have the perfect nude, so that was really key for me; that there would be something for everyone," she says.

To see this through, Beckham and her team started by looking at competitive lip ranges to find out what folks had to say about their shade selections. Then, from there, they brought the lip samples to a highly regarded makeup school in New Jersey and blind-tested them on makeup artists with a variety of different skin tones, garnering their feedback in order to make necessary tweaks. For instance, Beckham says the Definer's deep shades don't go red or orange because the team realized along the way that it simply didn't look right.

As far as the final Lip Definer shades are concerned, you have No. 01 (a pale peach); No. 02 (a neutral beige brown); No. 03 (a pink-y mauve); No. 04 (a rosy brown); No. 05 (a rich caramel); and No. 06 (a deep chestnut), with the lightest color as the best option for fair skin tones and the darkest being most ideal for deep-dark complexions. The Bitten Lip Tint, on the other hand, comes in one universal shade that imparts a natural-looking flush to the lips.

Now, let's talk application: To achieve a subtly poutier-looking lip, Beckham's go-to method is the overlining technique, which involves tracing slightly outside the natural lip line to fake the appearance of larger lips. "Sometimes I do it a little bit too much, but I like to overline and then blend two shades — usually 02 and 03 — together with either my finger or a brush," she says.

Additionally, when she wants a little extra color, she layers the Bitten Lip Tint underneath her liner. While she's at it, she applies some to her cheeks, too, to tie everything together.

Formula-wise, the Lip Definers are smooth, creamy, and super-comfortable on the lips, thanks to a vitamin E infusion, yet also matte and long-wearing at the same time. They're also waterproof, which more or less means smudge-proof, so you won't have to worry about reapplying a ton of times throughout the day. As for the Bitten Lip Tint, it's a featherlight texture that smooths and plumps the lips with hyaluronic acid and squalane.

In regards to cost, Beckham says she wanted the price point to reflect what she calls "affordable luxury." As a result, the Bitten Lip Tint will cost you $34, and each Lip Definer retails for $24 each. Shop the new Lip Definers now exclusively on victoriabeckhambeauty.com.
