Canadian cannabis strains for people who love humulene

Published on September 17, 2019 · Last updated July 28, 2020
Humulene

Humulene, also found in hops, is a woody, spicy, and earthy smelling terpene. It can also be found in ginseng and black pepper, two ingredients which are often found in Eastern medicine practices, and for good reason.

In a study from 2007 looking at the effect of a humulene derivative mixed with a caryophyllene derivative, researchers found a positive effect in decreasing inflammatory response. And another study from the same year discovered that these same terpenes inhibited cancer cell growth in vitro.Join the Leafly Canada Community

What does this mean for us?

The potential health benefits of humulene, especially when paired with caryophyllene, is promising for those suffering from inflammation.
