George P. Cosmatos' COBRA starring Sylvester Stallone Brigitte Nielsen and Reni Santoni is a classic and today we're hearing from Stallone himself that he's teaming with PLANET TERROR and DESPERADO director Robert Rodriguez to bring the flick to the small screen.

Stallone revealed:

I’m talking with Robert Rodriguez right now about Cobra, which looks like that could happen. It’s basically his baby now

Stallone added that COBRA would be done “as a series” and so we all assume this means it could very well show up on Rodriguez's El Ray Network in the future. We'll keep you posted. Meanwhile, the film followed:

Los Angeles policeman Lt. Marion "Cobra" Cobretti (Sylvester Stallone) finds himself at the center of a spate of murders carried out by a secret society called New Order: killers who select "weak" members of society for extermination. As the murder rate rises, Cobra takes model Ingrid (Brigitte Nielsen) into protective custody after she witnesses New Order's leader in action. As Cobra falls for Ingrid, they find shelter in a small town, but must soon fight for survival.

George P. Cosmatos directed COBRA from a screenplay written by Sylvester Stallone based on the novel Fair Game written by Paula Gosling. Menahem Golan and Yoram Globus produced the film which co-starred Brigitte Nielsen and Reni Santoni. Warner Bros. unleashed the film into theaters back on May 23, 1986. Buy it on Blu-ray HERE.
