The family of Tetra Pak heir Hans Rausing has seen its fair share of tragedy over the past decade.

But there was a happy new chapter yesterday when the philanthropist gave his daughter away at her fairy-tale wedding.

Lucy Rausing, 24, married photographer Constantin Kirwan-Taylor at the tiny St Mary's Church next to her father's £12 million estate near Tetbury.

The bride looked stunning in a full-length gown as she entered the church on the arm of Hans, 57.

And Lucy and her groom couldn't hide their delight when they emerged after the ceremony and headed to her father's 11th Century manor house for the celebrations.

Lucy's mother Eva died seven years ago, aged 48, following a drugs binge at the family's £70 million Belgravia townhouse.

Hans, who like his late wife was a drug addict at the time, failed to report Eva's death for two months and he was later given a suspended ten-month prison term for preventing her lawful and decent burial.

Lucy and her three siblings had previously been sent to live with their aunt, Sigrid Rausing, as their parents' lives descended into chaos.

Food-packaging giant Tetra Pak was founded by Lucy's great-grandfather Ruben. The family has an estimated £6 billion fortune.

Lucy's wedding comes just days after her grandfather Hans died in his sleep at the age of 93.

A family statement said the Swedish billionaire died peacefully at his Wadhurst Park estate in East Sussex last Friday with his wife Marit by his side.

His co-inheritance of Tetra Pak saw him become one of the richest men in Britian after revolutionising the milk industry.

The son of Ruben, he co-inherited the company from his father and held roles as chief executive and chairman of Tetra Pak, which later became the Tetra Laval group.

Tetra Pak revolutionised the way milk was packaged, creating a low cost, light weight, hygienic alternative to glass bottles and becoming a globally used product from the 1960s onward.

Hans ran the packaging firm from 1950 until 1995, when he retired selling his share of the business to his brother Gad Rausing for around £5.7 billion.

He moved to an estate in Sussex to avoid Swedish taxes in 1982, creating a deer park and pursuing his interests in sporting and country life.

He and his brother Gad toppled the Queen from the Sunday Times Rich List in 1994 thanks to their food packaging and equipment empire.

In a joint statement, his children Lisbet, Sigrid and Hans Kristian said: 'Our father was an extraordinary man, achieving so many things in his long and distinguished career as entrepreneur and industrialist, and then as a philanthropist supporting multiple charities and foundations.

'We are very proud of that, but most of all we will cherish our fond memories of him as a loving father and devoted family man.'

He is survived by Lucy's father Hans Kristian, his siblings Lisbet and Sigrid, Lucy and six other grandchildren.
