Kota Kinabalu: A driver was killed when his timber-laden trailer skidded and plunged into a ravine at Kilometre 25 Bukit Layang-Layang, Jalan Tenom-Sipitang Thursday night.The victim, identified as Dominic, died on the spot.

The Sabah Fire and Rescue Department’s operations centre, in a statement issued here Friday, a team from the Tenom Fire and Rescue Station rushed to the scene after receiving a distress call at 8.28 pm.

The trailer skidded and plunged into the 35-metre deep ravine and operation to retrieve the victim from under the pile of timber in the ravine was completed at about 12.35 am today, it said.
