CELTIC TARGET DECISION

CELTIC could call off their pursuit of a season-long loan deal for Bournemouth winger Jordan Ibe.

The former Liverpool prospect came on for the Cherries in their 3-1 home defeat from Manchester City on Sunday as manager Eddie Howe ponders the 23-year-old forward’s future.

Ibe looked to be on the way out, but injury concerns for the club could see any hopes of a temporary move vetoed.

Neil Lennon had Ibe on his radar, but, with Monday’s midnight transfer deadline coming up fast, he could look elsewhere after admitting he was looking to bring in “two or three” players this week.

However, the Hoops gaffer has continued to keep tabs on £4million-rated Norwegian international right-back Omar Elabdellaoui, as CQN reported earlier this month.

The champions were interested in the Olympiakos defender during the January transfer window, but baulked at meeting his weekly salary, thought to be in the region of £35,000.

Instead, Jeremy Toljan arrived on loan from Borussia Dortmund until the end of the season and the champions have switched their attention back to Elabdellaoui.

Lech Poznan’s £6million-rated Roberty Gummy has also been mentioned, but the 27-year-old Scandinavian, who started at Manchester City and had loan spells at Stromsgodset, Feyenoord and Hull City, is now sharply in focus.
