MACC Sabah takes a friendly approach
PENAMPANG: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Sabah has taken a friendly approach in getting the message of high spiritual and moral values across through education aspects.

The Kembara Kasih Anti-Rasuah Anti-Dadah 2019 programme is among such initiatives taken by MACC Sabah this year, with SMK Datuk Peter Mojuntin, here, picked for the week-long programme.

Some 200 students attended the programme.

“The focus is towards education aspects, through instilling moral values among students based on the National Anti-Corruption Plan (NACP),” said Sabah MACC Director, Dato’ Sazali Salbi, at the programme’s launching in SMK Datuk Peter Mojuntin, here, Saturday.

His speech was delivered by Sabah MACC Deputy Director (Operations), Hasbilah Mohammad Salleh.

The programme held at the school since Aug 19 featured various activities related to anti-corruption and anti-drugs awareness, including a series of talks by representatives from the Health Department, police and MACC themselves.

The programme is MACC’s collaborative strategy with the Sabah National Anti-Drugs Agency (AADK), State Education Department, Sabah Big Bikers Association (SBBA), State Development Office (SDO), the National Association for the Prevention of Drug Abuse (Pemadam) and the Sipitang District Office.

Sazali commended the encouraging involvement from government and private agencies, youth associations, the community and non-governmental organisations in getting the message across to the people at large.

Also present were Sabah MACC Deputy Director (Prevention) Awang Samsul Baharam Bungso, AADK Sabah Director Bakri Bibi and SBBA President Osman Ahmed, among others.

Meanwhile, the launching of the Kembara Kasih Anti Rasuah Anti Dadah 2019 here came with the flagging off of some 65 big bikers, comprising 50 bikers from SBBA and 15 from the police, who rode all the way to Sipitang on Saturday.

At Sipitang, the programme will proceed with a community service activity at Kg Merintaman, involving gotong-royong to repair a dilapidated house in the village on Sunday.

This will be followed by a walk-about where anti-corruption pamphlets were distributed to the community.
