West Belconnen Warriors 21 (Tries: T Vaughan, B Sione, R Thomas, J Roberts; Goals: B Roberts; Field Goal: B Crisp) d Yass Magpies 6 (Try: W Goode; Goal: S Davis)

The West Belconnen Warriors did everything in their power to keep their season alive but it was a case of too little too late as they beat the Yass Magpies at Walker Park.

The Warriors claimed an 8-0 lead at the break thanks to tries from Trent Vaughan and Riley Thomas.

The West Belconnen outfit extended their lead through Ben Sione and Joe Roberts after the break.

Will Goode scored Yass first try of the match late in proceedings as the home side finished their 2019 campaign on a positive note.

Queanbeyan Kangaroos 44 (Tries: F Tonga 3, Goals: K Pagura; B Cronan, J Ayers, J Bradley, T Robinson; Goals: L Ingram 4) d Tuggeranong Bushrangers 12 (Tries: J Pollard, R Sheffield; Goals: M O’Malvaney, J Mitchell)

The Queanbeyan Kangaroos became the final side to secure their finals berth with a 44-12 win over the Tuggeranong Bushrangers at Seears Workwear Oval.

The Queanbeyan Kangaroos took the lead after five minutes when Jeremiah Simbiken managed to offload to Kaine Pagura who scored.

From that moment the game turned into an arm wrestle as both sides tried to exert their authority over the match. The Bushrangers had their chances but the Kangaroos defence held firm.

Fonua Tonga doubled the Kangaroos tally when he steamrolled over the top of Tristan Eldridge to score.

The Queanbeyan side continued to stamp their authority over the match and managed another two tries before the break courtesy of Bryan Cronan and Josh Ayers to extend their lead to 20-0.

The Kangaroos continued where they left off as Fonua Tonga scored his second six minutes after the break.

The Queanbeyan side continued their try-scoring ways as Jordan Bradley crashed over which was followed by a try to Travis Robinson.

Fonua Tonga secured his hattrick for the Queanbeyan side to bring up a 38-0 lead.

The Bushrangers scored their first points of the game as Josh Mitchell made a break from dummy half before passing to the supporting Jayden Pollard who scored.

Tuggeranong quickly set up another try as Pollard turned creator with an unorthodox kick for Robert Sheffield.

The Kangaroos finished off the game with a Kaine Pagura try as they claimed a 44-12 win.

The result means that the Bushrangers miss the chance to secure the minor premiership but could still claim the shield if results go their way or claim a win next weekend.

Queanbeyan Blues 28 (Tries: M Parsons, S McLean, F Fainifo, S Fetuani, M Cole; Goals: T Campese 4) d Woden Valley Rams 12 (Tries: R Leapai, L Murphy; Goals: L Withers 2)

The Queanbeyan Blues remain in the hunt for the minor premiership after they claimed a win over the Woden Valley Rams.

After a close opening 20 minutes of the match, the Blues exploded into life to claim a 22-6 lead at the break.

The second half was a low scoring affair as both teams claimed a try apiece.

The result means that Woden’s slim finals chances officially came to an end. It also meant that for the third consecutive season, the defending premiers have failed to qualify for finals.

Belconnen United Sharks 40 (Tries: J Vejvoda 2, M Butz, G Buttriss, R Baker, S Tupuola, I Mataora; Goals: T Aroha-Tuinauvai 6) d Gungahlin Bulls 8 (Tries: R Cronin, N Mead)

Joey Vejvoda scored a double during the match as the Sharks secured their sixth win of the season.

The Bulls, on the other hand, suffered their third loss in a row and will finish the season in eighth place.
