Inter Milan are on a collision course with boss Antonio Conte over their struggle to land Romelu Lukaku.

The former Chelsea chief wanted the Manchester United striker signed in time for Saturday’s International Champions Cup game against the Reds.

But the two clubs have yet to reach agreement – leaving Conte fuming – with United demanding at least their money back on Lukaku, who they bought for £75million two years ago from Everton .

Inter, however, believe United’s financial demands for a player they do not want are unrealistic.

Conte is understood to be fuming at the delay to his plans having not included Mauro Icardi in his travelling squad, suggesting that troubled frontman will be leaving the club this summer.

Despite claims Inter are keen on PSG striker Edinson Cavani as an alternative, the Serie A side are firmly fixed on landing Lukaku.

Inter chief Piero Ausilio has led negotiations for the Belgian but has so failed to make a breakthrough.

But Inter have only made a £60m bid, with a further £15m dependent on how successful the player is.

Lukaku is currently in Singapore with United, waiting for the Nerazzurri to meet their asking price.

He remains Conte's No.1 transfer target, at a time where the ex-Juventus boss has dumped top scorer Icardi.

However, the likes of the Argentina striker and ex-Belgium international Radja Nainggolan - another whom Conte doesn't want - are no closer to departing.
