Kylie Jenner Opened Up About Anxiety, the Meaning of Her First Tattoo, and "Lost Friends"

Twenty-one-year-old beauty mogul Kylie Jenner is opening up about her daily anxieties and "lost friends." On July 16, she penned a candid open letter to accompany a pretty sunset snap on her Instagram. In the post, Kylie noted that she's “lost herself” at times.

“I’m proud of myself, my heart, and my strength. growing up in the light with a million eyes on you just isn’t normal. I’ve lost friends along the way and I’ve lost myself too sometimes,” Jenner admitted in the post. “My first tattoo was ‘sanity’ to remind myself everyday to keep it. I’ve struggled with anxiety my whole young adult life and after my baby i dealt with all the internal ups and downs. I felt like i had to find myself completely again.”

Jenner then also decided to shed light on the perils of social media and how outside perceptions can be easily deceived through the apps. “I keep a whole lot to myself but just wanted to share and let you know I’m human. my life is not perfect and what you see here on social media is just the surface. be gentle with yourself, move on, and let go,” she continued. “We are all capable of great things, worthy of love, and allowed to express ourselves. do more of what makes you happy and be unapologetic.”

Though Jenner’s post may not be directed at anyone in particular, it’s difficult not to draw a connection between her statement about lost friends and her former BFF Jordyn Woods — especially after the latest Keeping Up With the Kardashians promo aired on E!

In the recent clip, Jenner opens up about Woods and the Tristan Thompson cheating allegations that strained their inseparable friendship when the news first broke back in February. Kylie then admits she believes “the situation needed to happen for a reason” — which certainly echoes the sentiments from her IG post.

“She was my security blanket. She lived with me. We did everything together, I just felt like, 'oh, I have Jordyn. I don't need anything else.' And I feel like there's a part of me that needed to grow without her,” Jenner can be heard saying in the clip. “Sometimes people are there for certain reasons at certain times in your life and then not there for others."

"Everything's supposed to happen for a reason, and it's the season to filter through the bullshit, and, you know, only the strong and loyal will survive," Khloé Kardashian then asserts in the clip, with Jenner agreeing.

Lately, it's been reported that Jenner and Woods had been on speaking terms again and open to rebuilding the friendship.

Of course, we don't know whether Jenner was indeed referring to Woods when she referenced her "lost" friendships on IG, so it's better to take everything with a grain of salt. But now that she's ready to “move on, and let go,” be prepared for anything.
