Give yourself the “daycation” you deserve at the East Austin Hotel pool.

Life is crazy. It’s hard to fit in vacations (even though sometimes we really NEED them). Sometimes, it’s even difficult to fit in a weekend staycation! So how about this: how about a DAYcation? Can you give yourself a vacation for ONE DAY? You can purchase a $25 day-pass to the East Austin Hotel pool. Now we’re talking. Relaxation, commence!

I received my day passes for free, but all honest thoughts and opinions are my own.

The boutique East Austin Hotel is located at 1108 E 6th St. The mid-century modern design makes for a really clean, hip feel. They describe themselves as “chic-but-approachable” and I have to agree! Poolside rooms start at $199 on weekdays. For even less ($99 starting!), they have cabin rooms. These rooms share private bathrooms. But we’re not here to talk about vacations. We want a DAYcation only! To the pool.

You can get a day pass to the East Austin Hotel pool even if you aren’t a hotel guest. Tickets are $25 for adults, $15 for children (purchased through ResortPass). They also do a Summer Swell event on Sundays through September 1st. It’s a 21+ event for $30. At Summer Swell, there are food and drink deals, music, and a retro pool party vibe.

I opted for the regular weekday pass. Fewer people in a quieter atmosphere is much more my speed. With the weekday pass, you can park in their parking garage. When you check in at the front desk, they’ll give you a complimentary parking pass. Even without a comp, the parking at East Austin Hotel is $6 for 2 hours. Honestly, that’s not a bad hit for underground parking on the east side. The front desk will check to make sure you bought day passes, then they’ll give you a pool key card. Easy!

The pool has a really nice bar with food, beer, wine, and cocktails. The cocktails aren’t cheap ($10-12), but hey, you’re on DAYcation, right? I ordered their frozen “Permanent Vacation” and Brian tried the “Air Mail.” If you like champagne, you’d probably enjoy the Air Mail. We also went over the top and ordered poolside ceviche. It was delicious!

We were really digging the atmosphere while we were there. It truly was relaxing. On a Tuesday at 11am, it wasn’t crowded at all. We got our own chairs and umbrella. The ceviche we ordered at the bar was delivered to our poolside lounge chairs! SO FANCY! For more crowded times, there are tables around the pool.

The pool itself is pretty small. I mean, I didn’t need a huge space – I was just sitting – but if you brought kids who were expecting to play, they’d probably be in the way of other guests. It’s definitely a lounging kind of pool.

Want your own DAYcation? Check out ResortPass to get your tickets. Your future self thanks you!
