PARK SLOPE, BROOKLYN — A team of muggers have been robbing groups of people in Prospect Park at gunpoint, making off with six phones and four credit cards over the last week, police said.

Police are looking for two men involved in three separate muggings both in and around the park.

In the first robbery, the two men came up to a 37-year-old man around 10:30 p.m. last Monday in front of 180 Prospect Place, a building outside the north end of the park in Prospect Heights. One of the suspects took out a handgun while the other demanded the victim hand over his property. The team ran away on Prospect Place with the man's wallet and cell phone.

Later that week, around 11 p.m. on Saturday, July 6, the same team of men came up to a group of three people who were in the meadow near Third Street and West Drive. Again, one of the men took out a handgun while the other asked for property from the man and two women, all of whom are in their early 20s. The victims handed over two cell phones, a Bluetooth speaker and two wallets that had various credit cards in them, police said.

Police found out that one of those credit cards was used around 11:30 a.m. the next day inside a grocery store at 317 Bushwick Avenue, but had been declined.

In the third robbery, the team of muggers returned to the Prospect Park meadow near Third Street and West Drive on Sunday, July 7, and again found a group of three people, one women and two men. When they went up to the group around 10:30 p.m., one of the suspects took out a knife and the other told the group that he had a gun, police said.

The muggers left with three cell phones, $100 and a wallet with various credit cards.

But before leaving the park, the men decided to rob a bicyclist who was riding by as they walked away from the group. They knocked the 25-year-old man off his bike and punched him in the face, taking his wallet before leaving the park.

Police said one of the men was last seen wearing all black clothing. The other has a goatee and was last seen wearing a black du-rag, a black shirt, light blue jeans, black sneakers.
