Divock Origi: Liverpool striker signs long-term contract

Striker Divock Origi has signed a new long-term contract with Liverpool.
The Belgium international, 24, signed from Lille in 2014 on a five-year deal, only to spend two seasons out on loan.
But he returned to have a big impact with the Reds last term, scoring twice against Barcelona in the Champions League semi-finals before sealing the 2-0 win over Tottenham in the final.
"The feeling was always that I wanted to stay," said Origi. "There is something special going on here."
The Reds paid £10m to sign Origi after he impressed at the 2014 World Cup and he remained on loan at Lille for 2014-15.
Over the following two seasons he scored 21 goals for Liverpool in all competitions but struggled to overcome an ankle injury and was loaned out to German side Wolfsburg for 2017-18.
Origi had to wait until December to make his first Premier League appearance of 2018-19, coming off the bench to score a late winner in the Merseyside derby, before a memorable end to the season.
"It's a story really only football can write," said Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp. "It didn't really work out at Wolfsburg and, coming back, he was thinking about leaving.
"But he grew and grew and grew, in training sessions you could see it, and he scored unbelievably important goals.
"Now he is this wonderful player again so it's great to have him."

Scores vital goals at vital times....
Liverpool FC...
Just keep getting better.
Unlike £90million Paul Labille Pogba who fades into insignificance in any big game for ManUre.

From Everton to Spurs he's won the focking lot
Champions league winner!
Scored vital goals. 2 in the semi final and one beauty to secure no 6️⃣ 😁
He deserves a new contract. Whatever happens now he'll always be a club legend!

You are the English PSG. A curiosity to Europe but an embarrassment at the same time. I mean $2bn AND under investigation for FFP. You should be banned from competition altogether just for failing to fill your own stadium.
The new' David Fairclough...
Guy I work with...admits you'll never win the league...as cannot be consistent for an entire season.

There are 2 of you having this discussion?
Neither one realised LFC achieved the best record in the top flight ever bar City, in a season that finished less than 7 weeks ago...?
I can only imagine your work involves smoking spice and drinking Stella all day?
First to admit he's not the finished article. But he's improved a country mile from first joining.
He is a HUUUGE unit! Causes defenders issues all the time. He invariably makes things happen, be it a shot or simply forcing the ball into a live area.
Well done Div!
Hopefully he can push Firmino more and get himself a good amount of goals.
Buying an equivalent would have cost a huge sum of money so hopefully he'll pick up where he left off and we'll all be happy.
At one point I said he should leave but last season he showed the passion most players seem to lack these days
Hope LFC get a couple more signings but Klopp doesn't just go for anyone and it pays off. Still have Wilson etc wanting to make their mark too.
