Woman Killed In Kensington Crash, Police Say

A woman was fatally struck by a car at Coney Island and Church avenues Monday morning, according to officials.

KENSINGTON, BROOKLYN — A woman died trying to cross a busy Kensington intersection when she was caught in a two-car crash, officials said.

The 49-year-old woman was walking in the crosswalk on Coney Island Avenue about 9:10 a.m. when she was hit by a blue 2015 Honda Fit making a right turn from Church Avenue, police said.

The Honda then rammed into a brown 2019 Subaru Outback which had stopped at the light, police said.

Diane, an employee at nearby Andrew's Coffee Shop, said the woman was pulled underneath one of the cars.

Video uploaded to Citizen shows the NYPD investigating the crash site where what appears to be a pair of shoes lie in the street.

Emergency responders rushed the woman, who suffered severe injuries to her head and body, to Maimonides Hospital where she later died, according to police.

Both drivers remained at the scene and were not immediately charged with a crime.
