Traffic stop leads to 2 arrests on warrants

A traffic stop in Columbus resulted in the arrest of two individuals who had outstanding Bartholomew County warrants.

Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Deputy Dylan Prather conducted the traffic stop at about 9:37 p.m. Saturday in the 1800 block of 10th Street.

Paul Comstock, 52, of 12891 N. County Road 670E in Hope, was arrested on preliminary charges of:

  • Bartholomew County warrant
  • Obstruction of justice
  • Legend drug injection devices
  • Possession of methamphetamine
  • Possession of look-alike substance
  • Possession of paraphernalia
  • Resisting law enforcement

He remains in the Bartholomew County Jail in lieu of $138,500 bond.

During Comstock’s arrest, deputies also confirmed that a female observer, identified as Loretta Reed, 34, 1804 10th St. in Columbus, had an outstanding arrest warrant. Reed was also arrested and booked into the county jail on the warrant. 

Reed remains in the jail in lieu of $5,000 bond.
