Hull FC's players have not had an ideal preparation for a big derby game having endured a fruitful but long day on Saturday travelling to France and back.

Following a 7am flight to Perpignan, FC's players were back home in the late hours and given a day off today to recuperate while Hull KR's players were at Craven Park training and preparing for the match after playing Thursday night.

With the game at Rovers this Thursday edging closer, Hull are taking a different approach to their preparation this week in an effort to keep the players fresh.

Owner Adam Pearson is willing to pay for the use of a cryotherapy chamber if FC can secure the necessary time needed in the popular rehabilitation chamber, while in an effort to change things up, Lee Radford will treat his side to a visit to the seaside this week.

“The owner's trying his best to get us the cryotherapy chamber during the week to recover, which would be great,” said Radford.

“We’re going to Bridlington for the day on Monday and we’ll do our recovery on the beach.

"It’s a quick turnaround for us this week but sometimes that’s a good thing.”
