OLI ADDS TO MYSTERY

OLIVIER NTCHAM added to the transfer intrigue surrounding his future when he admitted a “departure from Celtic is possible”.

The French midfielder, bought two years ago from Manchester City for £4.5million, is currently on international duty as his nation’s Under-21s prepare for the Euro 2019 opener against England tomorrow.

Marseille have been linked with the powerhouse and new boss Andre Villas-Boas is expected to make his move in the summer market.

Portuguese giants Porto have also been monitoring Ntcham for over a year and Lyon, who paid £19.8million for his compatriot Moussa Dembele in August last year, have been credited with an interest, too.

The player addressed the speculation at a press conference yesterday, when, speaking to the Daily Record, he said: “Yes, it’s very interesting. Marseille are a big club.

“A departure from Celtic is possible.”

Morgan Sanson is expected to quit Marseille for West Ham and that could open up a space in the club’s midfield.

Ntcham was outstanding during his first campaign, but last season was wrecked by injury and, following his return at the turn of the year, he failed to recapture his earlier form.

He still has two years to run on his current deal.
