The Canberra Raiders would like to congratulate board member and long time Government official Dennis Richardson AC, on being appointed a Companion of the Order of Australia in the Queen’s Birthday 2019 Honours list.
Mr Richardson had a distinguished 50-year career in Government, including a decade as head of ASIO and five years as ambassador to Washington before becoming chief of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and then Defence.
He has also been a member of the Canberra Raiders board since 2005 and has always shown a genuine passion and love for his local team the Canberra Raiders.
According to the official documentation, his appointment was for eminent service to public administration through leadership roles in the national security, defence and foreign policy arenas, and to workplace cultural reform.
The club would once again like to Congratulate Mr Richardson on this wonderful honour.
