SANCTUARY Continuing On Without Warrel Dane, Announce New Tour & New Album

Sanctuary-2019

Sanctuary's 2018 tour ended up becoming a tribute tourafter the death of vocalist Warrel Dane in 2017. Witherfall vocalist Joseph Michael filled in for Dane live and even said the band was considering carrying on with him as the new vocalist. Well, after demoing a bunch of material in November, they liked what they heard and now Sanctuary is moving forward with Michael as the full time vocalist.

They hope to release a new album next year, and have announced a ton of dates for the summer, including European festivals, and North American dates where they will play 1988’s Refuge Denied in full. Sanctuary guitarist Lenny Rutledge comments:

“Sanctuary are looking forward to playing two special festival shows in Europe this summer in addition to our commemorative ‘Refuge Denied’ dates in the US where we will perform our classic debut album in full. If you’re an old school Sanctuary fan or a fan of classic metal, you don’t what to miss this run of dates! Joseph Michael(Witherfall) is the new singer of Sanctuary and we will be playing songs from all 3 albums but focusing on the earlier material. Come check out the return of Sanctuary!”

It might get some getting used to the new vocalist but the songs still crush, so if you wanna hear them live, this is your chance:
