Here's an interesting turn of events.

Hopefully now reports will make it up the chain of command not just sorta, kinda sit there or the personnel be criticized and belittled. I still doubt full public disclosure will come anytime soon but now at-least there seems to be forward movement into understanding these Phenomena.

Why Is The Pentagon Interested In UFOs?

U.S. Navy pilots and sailors won’t be considered crazy for reporting unidentified flying objects, under new rules meant to encourage them to keep track of what they see

Yet just a few years ago, the Pentagon reportedly shut down another official program that investigated UFO sightings. What has changed? Is the U.S. military finally coming around to the idea that alien spacecraft are visiting our planet?

The answer to that question is almost certainly no. Humans’ misinterpretation of observations of natural phenomena are as old as time and include examples such as manatees being seen as mermaids and driftwood in a Scottish loch being interpreted as a monster. A more recent and relevant example is the strange luminescent structure in the sky caused by a SpaceX rocket launch. In these types of cases, incorrect interpretations occur because people have incomplete information or misunderstand what they’re seeing.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Pentagon is the one who makes most of them...

Huh, I'll go you one better:
See: thehill.com...

In that story and from that source, the author is actually suggesting its time Congress investigates the phenomenon and the reason he suggests that's necessary is because, in his opinion, its becoming quite crystal clear that the US Air Force is no longer in control of US airspace.

No that my man is utterly amazing! But full disclosure? Not in my lifetime.

it would be great fun to rummage through the files on ufo's between the Pentagon, the CIA and the Air Force wouldn't it? Would be some fascinating stuff turn up I would imagine.

One likely explanation could be,

They want to know what kind of crafts other countries are building.

But unlikely because i believe all countries are ruled by the same puppetmasters, so it would be kinda pointless.

Like spying your own a(SNIP)s

They are interested because they can't afford not to be. Imagine if some other Country took it seriously and somehow got better ideas to advance technology while we are doing nothing with our thumb up our butt.

The Pentagon has always been interested in UFOs. That is their job, to investigate ANYTHING that affects national defense. It's just not been in their best interests to discuss it. Whether they intentionally disclosed the latest round of sightings or whether leaks forced their hand is unknown. This should be obvious to anyone who has studied the subject over the last 50-70 years. Nothing about this is new. They've cast a lot of disinformation about over the last half century, of course, and it would be difficult for them to extract themselves from that, but I suspect there is a much bigger reason.

We can't handle the truth. If it were "aliens from space" we could handle it easily. We're the Star Trek generation. That would be easy. A few people would freak out, but by and large the population would either say, "Cool!" or "Meh?" Even the religious folks would be on board because "The Lord has many mansions" and all that. But if it is NOT "aliens from space" that presents a whole nother issue. What if it is about the fabric of reality? What if the "aliens" were truly "Bad Guys(tm)" and, from our standpoint, all-powerful. That could ruin your whole day and would indeed be a show stopper. That's what I suspect, though, of course, I don't really know. It's just an educated guess.

Probably to spot more drones

Just a guess but drones are often mistaken as UFOs and if no one reports UFOs you get little drone sightings

Meh, another opinion piece the "national security affairs adviser for To the Stars Academy of Arts and Science".

There could be many reasons.

1: they are looking for sightings of their own secret aircraft, to see if any reports of UFO sightings that echo the abilities of their own secret aircraft.

2: They might be thinking these sightings are evidence of a foreign powers' aerial technology.

3.they are looking for blue reptilians from the planet qwopple.

After my sighting two months ago, the two points are the most likely, I live near a military proving ground so any sightings could be recorded by privates etc, and it would be helpful if they knew the UFO was one of their own or some other nations experimental aircraft.

Or maybe they are truly looking for Giant Green rabbitiods, but it's good to see the encouragement of reporting sightings, national security and all.

Also another reason behind this, could simply be,

We want to know if you are sick in the head.

you know, maybe they do not want ufo believing type of persons in there, then they can fire them after a few months or maybe a few years, so it isn`t obvious.

Could the ones who work within the Gov and Military be granting the green light for disclosure?

Seems with all of the whistleblowers as well as second-hand stories of now deceased as well as many deathbed confessions, It may not be the officials who want the lid kept on the raw story.

Unless someone is Intellectually Inferior, who could possibly still deny the Galactic Community?

Also the AF does track them...

However, I have always been on the side of Disclosure of what we already have first so that it can alleviate a bit of the fear some people have at the thought of other than human lifeforms...

I think the only way we will get some kind of a disclosure is something like this.

Pretty sure the visitors would not do that.
But the ones we have reverse engineered, for military uses, well.. it could happen.

I mean, who knows what kind of Quantum-Nega-Bombs the most advanced stealth crafts are carrying with them.

"They might be thinking these sightings are evidence of a foreign powers' aerial technology. "

That is precisely what these programs have been for: foreign aerospace technology.

As far as little green men go, the consensus is they probably do exist in the universe--but distances are so vast the possibility of visitors to this planet is nil.

Most people automatically associate 'UFO' with aliens from another planet/galaxy/plane of existence. That's what generates all the woo-woo conjecture and..."entertainment products" such as that peddled by TTSA.
