A man has been charged with murdering T2 Trainspotting actor Bradley Welsh outside his Edinburgh home.

The 48-year-old died after being shot as he walked down the stairs to his flat on April 17.

Police confirmed on Monday that a 28-year-old man had been charged in connection with the actor's death.

He is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Tuesday.

The suspect was also charged with attempting to murder of a 28-year-old man and seriously assaulting another man, who was aged 22, on Wednesday, March 13, police said.

"Members of the public are thanked for their assistance with both of these investigations," Police Scotland said in the statement confirming the charges.
