SIPITANG: Rural Development Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick has brought good news to the people of Sipitang during his visit here as he contributed a total of RM20,000 to the Lundayeh Cultural Association and two SIB churches.

The contribution was channelled from Ewon’s special Minister Touchpoint allocation.

The Lundayeh Cultural Association and the two SIB churches received RM10,000 each.

It is understood that the money will be used by the SIB churches to fund their kindergarten.

“I hope that this fund would lessen the burden of the association and the churches here – especially in its activities and education development programmes,” said Ewon, who is also the Kadamaian assemblyman.

Ewon presented the contribution during a dinner ceremony with the Lundayeh Cultural Association members and local church leaders during an event at the Lundayeh Cultural Centre in Sipitang here on Thursday evening.

During the event, Ewon had also spoken on various pertinent issues raised by the villagers such as rural entrepreneurial assistance and rural economic development issues.
