Iyanla Pennington, Jackson softball
Pennington, a senior, struck out 16 Snohomish batters in a two-hit shutout as the Timberwolves blanked the Panthers 3-0. The Coastal Carolina-bound Pennington walked two and allowed just two singles. She also accounted for all of Jackson’s runs with a double, a home run and three RBI.
MJ Timm, Oak Harbor girls tennis
Timm, a senior, rebounded from a first-set defeat to beat South Whidbey’s Farriss Jokinen 3-6, 6-1, 6-3 to help the Wildcats clinch a 4-3 non-conference win over the Falcons.
Tyler Spalti, Glacier Peak boys golf
Spalti shot a 2-over-par 38 at Mill Creek Country Club to take medalist honors in the Grizzlies’ match against Archbishop Murphy.
Owen Bishop, Arlington baseball
Bishop, a junior, struck out 11 and walked one in a six-inning shutout of Everett, allowing three hits in a 10-0 win.
