The Kentucky Wildcats just landed a big-time commitment in 5-star shooting forward Keion Brooks (Fort Wayne, Indiana).

Yes, the Cats beat out the in-state Hoosiers.

The 6-foot-7, 185-pound prospect is ranked as the nation’s No. 23 overall player and the state of Indiana’s No. 3 overall recruit, according to 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Brooks announced his commitment online at CBS Sports.

“Next season, I’ll be attending the University of Kentucky,” Brooks said about his commitment.

Why?

“At the end of the day, it just came down to the relation that I’ve built with Coach Cal,” Brooks explained. “I felt very comfortable making my decision to go to Kentucky.”

Brooks made an unofficial visit to Kentucky when the Cats knocked off No. 1 Tennessee, and that visit made a huge impression on him.

“It factored in a lot,” Brooks said about his visit. “It really shifted my decision in that direction.”
