HAWTHORNE, CA – Tesla unveiled its Model Y, an all-electric, mid-size SUV, Thursday evening at its design studio in Hawthorne.

The Model Y can carry seven adults and their gear, can go from 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds and has a top speed of 150, according to Tesla. The Model Y Standard Battery will have 230 miles of range, while Model Y Long Range will be able to travel up to 300 miles on a single charge, the automotive company announced.

Like the Model 3, Model Y does not require keys, but instead connects to the driver's smartphone for entry and exit. The vehicle has a single 15-inch touchscreen interface for all of its controls.
