BEAUFORT: The government is giving utmost support towards the “Cabaran Pengguna Kelab Pengguna Sekolah” (CIP-KPS) programme as it does not only strengthen relation and ties between government bodies but also foster greater cooperation among school community clubs.
Klias Community Development Leader (PPM) Johair Matlani expressed hopes that students will benefit from the programme in developing creativity, innovation, potential of the students particularly in consumerism-related aspects.

“It is time for the younger generation are shared with valuable information regarding consumerism so as to face consumerism challenges today.
“So, I am advising the students to be informative, smart, and responsible user,” he said when launching the state-level South-zone CIP KPS programme at SMK Beaufort II.
Also present were District Development Assistant Officer Evanalyn Longinus, and SMK Beaufort II Principal’s Senior Assistant Norimah Sadih.
The programme was organised by the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP), which is aimed at spreading awareness as well as to educate students on consumerism issues.

Nine schools took part in the programme and they were SMK Beaufort I, SMK Beaufort II, SMK Bongawan, SMK Gadong, SM St Paul, SMK Kota Klias, SMK Pg Omar Sipitang I, SMK Pg Omar Sipitang II and SMK Membakut II.

Johair explained that the programme is geared towards educating the students from young age to be consumerism-smarter and vigilant.
