The Herald’s 2019 All-Area high school girls basketball teams

A look at the top girls basketball players in the area this past season.

PLAYER OF THE YEAR

Maya DuChesne, sr., G, Snohomish

DuChesne averaged 14.1 points, 4.7 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 2.4 steals per game while leading the youth-laden Panthers to a fourth-place state trophy. The four-year starting point guard keyed a comeback state regional win and hit a game-winning shot at the Hardwood Classic.

COACH OF THE YEAR

Brian Hill, Glacier Peak

Hill guided the youth-laden Grizzlies to the Wesco 4A title and a fourth-place state trophy. Glacier Peak finished 23-4 and beat several of the state’s top teams, including both Class 4A state championship game participants.

FIRST TEAM

Maya DuChesne, sr., G, Snohomish

Emily Rodabaugh, sr., G, Archbishop Murphy

Rodabaugh averaged 15.6 points, seven rebounds, two assists and three steals per game during an injury-shortened season. The Northern Arizona signee led the Wildcats to a share of the Wesco 3A/2A crown.

Amayah Kirkman, jr., G, Lynnwood

Kirkman averaged 19.1 points, 7.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 3.5 steals per game. She scored a season-high 34 points in a win over Kamiak.

Mikail Montez, sr., P, Marysville Getchell

Montez averaged 15 points, 11 rebounds, four assists and two blocks per game while leading the Chargers to a program-best 15 wins.

Adrienne Poling, sr., G, Edmonds-Woodway

Poling averaged 17 points, six rebounds and two assists per game while shooting 35 percent from 3-point range. She led the Warriors to the state quarterfinals.

SECOND TEAM

Aaliyah Collins, soph., G, Glacier Peak

Collins averaged 12.4 points, three rebounds, three assists and 3.5 steals per game while helping lead the Grizzlies to the Wesco 4A title and a fourth-place state trophy.

Raigan Reed, jr., G, Lake Stevens

Reed averaged 13 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game.

Olivia Skibiel, sr., G, Jackson

The North Dakota State signee averaged 12.7 points, 8.3 rebounds, three assists and two steals per game.

Madison Chisman, sr., F, Stanwood

Chisman averaged 15.1 points, nine rebounds and 2.5 steals per game.

Irena Korolenko, jr., G, Cedar Park Christian

The North Sound Conference co-MVP averaged 21 points, 6.2 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 3.4 steals per game.
