Steal of a Deal: Encore Micron Unicron for $71, PotP Nemesis Prime for $40 and more on Amazon Japan

Those prices are great, especially for UW Devy and Superion.

Between this and the Siege line, my wallet's gonna need therapy.

I spotted these at 5 Below last Friday, they rang up for $4 instead of the marked $5.




I was only interested in one of them and he was pretty easy to find.



The box was so light I thought it was empty.

This is amazing as I never thought about ordering from Amazon Japan. I have always pre-ordered from online shops here in the USA.

I just picked up MP-44 for $310 shipped, about $150 less than if I bought it domestically and MP-45 for $94 shipped versus $130. Once I changed the UI to English and created a new account it was very easy.

I was on the fence for MP-44 primarily based on the price but at $310 that's enough of a deal to justify the purchase.

Amazon JP is great. Their prices are as low as the other Japanese stores, but the 1200 yen shipping is unbeatable. I've bought a few SOC and MP figures through them, and have had OP on PO for a while. Really hoping they get SOC Voltron too!

So, if you already have regular Amazon and a Prime membership, do you have to register separately for Amazon Japan?

Those are really great deals, just a shame that Amazon JP (or US for that matter) don't ship to Switzerland

Yes, they are independent.

Ok, so how am I supposed to order from Amazon Japan? I created an account so I can order MP-44. But it states "This seller for the item you selected does not deliver to your selected location.". I tried to check out anyway, and it won't ship to my location (Illinois).

Thats because if you check you'll see its no longer being sold by Amazon Japan but by a 3rd party seller. All preorders from Amazon japan are now sold out.

The seller has to be Amazon. I just checked and it's not available. I've noticed it has gone in and out of stock for direct Amazon sales for the last few months. I would just check back often.

Yes and no. what I mean is that the price you see includes taxes while the one in the article does not. it still fluctuated (especially after people reading the article) but not by 2000 yen. Instead it only fluctuated by 1000 yen which you would see if you added it to your cart.

Yes, sometimes hourly or quicker. Depends on current seller price.

I think the sales tax is 8%, but you will see a small drop in your cart. Everything I've shipped so far has been around $12 in shipping, but it could go up for heavier things. If you dig around you can find the international shipping rates.

Import fees are county dependent; if you're in the states, you should be free and clear - no promises.

Also a really good tip for noob amazon.jp users, you can change your default language from your account settings. You'll just have to poke around a bit. Also Chrome is pretty good at translating pages as well.

Good luck, have fun and be careful as amazon.jp is a dangerous rabbit hole.

Yeah, Amazon.jp is very upfront about the prices and tell you at checkout what the shipping will cost. There are times when the shipping is higher than usual. I wanted to include Bumblebee movie Legendary Optimus Prime, but Amazon wanted $25 for shipping despite being the seller making it pointless.

Some of the third party sellers that are fulfilled by Amazon will ship internationally, just stick a few in your cart and try them out.

I wouldn't use them as my sole import option, there are times when they don't have the best price. I still use AmiAmi for small non-Transformers figures that Amazon.jp can't touch the price of.

Actually paying for your order can be a little tricky since they don't accept PayPal. If the payment fails they will hold onto your order and let you change methods. Usually just a quick call to your bank or credit card issuer fixes everything. My credit card allowed me to order Unicron after they sent me a text to verify the charge, but refused MPM-7 Bumblebee twice. I was able to get a unique card number just for Amazon Japan that should solve that problem from here on out.

Also, if you want to save a few bucks and you have a card that does free currency exchanges then have Amazon charge in JPY rather than USD at checkout as their exchange rate is higher than the actual rate. Right now the yen is pretty weak (100 JPY = $.89 USD) so make the most of it.

Scored myself a Unicron. $85 shipped was too good to pass up to pair up with TLK Cybertron. And it's funny that my version of both Planetformers will be their opposite counterparts (Bad Primus, good Unicron). And even funnier cause I paid less for Unicron than Primus.

I didn't have an issue with my credit card and Amazon Japan. I have MP-43 on pre-order with them too. They also ship fast I hear, like 3 to 5 days. I'll definitely be keeping a sharper eye on them.

I cancelled my order for Masterpiece Bumble from hobbylink japan and just preordered from Amazon Japan. I think it was like $96 total - sick deal.

Do they usually open up more preorders? I want that Beast Wars Megatron and looks like preorders are sold out thru Amazon.

Also - Best Wars Megatron is available again for Preorder at an INSANE PRICE. I just ordered one for $229.00.

I got BW Megatron at the same price this morning. The prices on these are jumping back and forth and even Amazon themselves are changing their own price. But now I have Megs, MP-44 and MP-45 on some insane deals. If everything works out this will be fantastic but I do wonder if there are any issues with the figures, say missing or broken parts, how do I contact them and get replacements sent? That is the only issue with not dealing with domestic sellers.

Dealing with Amazon Japan is the same as dealing with Amazon US or Amazon Canada. If there is an issue with something they themselves sold you, they will help. Thats why I am very happy with them.

Dealing with Amazon Japan is the same as dealing with Amazon US or Amazon Canada. If there is an issue with something they themselves sold you, they will help. Thats why I am very happy with them.

Thank you as that is good to know. I will gladly purchase all my future MPs from them as I will have saved $200 on MP-44 alone vs. buying it here.

Grumble, grumble. Didn't expect them to use DHL for shipping, they're the worst! I live on a private road and they hate delivering to my house in the winter because the road has a little snow on it. My Unicron wasn't due until Thursday, but apparently they tried dropping it off Tuesday, but couldn't be bothered to actually come to my house so they wrote that I wasn't home at 5pm (I was) and that they left a door tag (they didn't). Then it updated Wednesday saying it was out for deliver, but as of right now it still says it's on the truck, as well as my MPM-7 Bumblebee, they didn't even try to deliver them. And yet UPS dropped off a package today no problem. Worst part is DHL travels up to Maine out of Boston so it isn't like I can just go to a local center to pick it up like I can UPS or USPS. Going to be quite angry if they send them back to Japan just because they're too lazy to come to my door.

Man, the same thing happened to me right before Valentines Day when I bought MPM-3 for myself. It was due on a Friday, they said they attempted delivery but couldn’t (they didn’t say why they couldn’t) and the next delivery wouldn’t be until Tuesday because of the Monday holiday. At the time, I assumed my dog must’ve been outside, but I was home when they claimed delivery was attempted and I swear he wasn’t. I mean sure, he’s a German Shepherd/Rottweiler/Mutt and big, but he’s a rescue, super skinny, and is the sweetest, most polite dog in the entire damn world, and I promise you I’m not exaggerating. But that’s happened so many times with DHL, I’m tempted to write them a strongly worded review just to show them how frosted I am.
