Danny Dyer has revealed his controversial opinion on ISIS bride Shamima Begum.
The 19-year-old mother, who fled the country four years ago to join ISIS in Syria, has given an interview saying "a lot of people should have sympathy for her".
And her family's lawyer clashed with Richard Madeley earlier in the show when he compared Begum to a First World War veteran.
After announcing the finalists for the Mentor of the Year award for the Prince’s Trust, Danny spoke about the importance of having someone to guide you.
Giving his take on the situation, Danny argued that Begum should be allowed to return to the UK.
He said: "Yes I do [think she should come back]. I feel she needs a chance maybe to explain what's going on and we can understand a bit more how they got to her and how she felt it was right to jump on plane and leave this country at 15 years of age.
"She’s till a young girl and look at the people around her. Who was looking after her? Maybe we can learn from it."
The EastEnders actor was baffled as to why the schoolgirl would want to fly out to Syria.
He said: "[She had] no guidance, clearly. Because if you think about it, what on earth? How has it got into her head that going to Syria at 15 years of age is the answer? What is that about? Who is there to guide her, talk to her? Why is she so lost within her soul that she thinks that’s the answer to go to Syria?
He asked Good Morning Britain host Richard Madeley if he was thinking of going to Syria when he claimed Begum was "brainwashed on the internet".
Danny said: "We’ve all got the internet Rich. Are you thinking of going to Syria?
"Actually jumping on a plane at 15 to go to Syria. I don't understand what's going on there."
Outraged Good Morning Britain viewers took to Twitter to blast Danny.
One viewer said: "Danny Dyer Shame on you.. thought you was proper, thought you was one of us! Bowed down to the left this morning.. something tells me it’s because you were on the tele?? Shameful"
Another added: "Danny went all PC with his answer..I don't buy it for a minute that he really thinks that"
A third said: "Well yes I suppose until now the one person on the planet who hadn’t been asked to give their opinion on ‘ISIS bride’ Shamima Begum was Danny Dyer"
