Scott Frost will have a hole to fill on his coaching staff.

On Monday, Frost announced that defensive line coach Mike Dawson will be leaving Nebraska for a position in the NFL with the New York Giants. He will be the outside linebackers coach.

Dawson had spent the last three seasons on Frost’s staff at UCF (2016-17) and Nebraska (2018).

Dawson has over 20 years of coaching experience and has already had a stint in the NFL. From 2013-15, he was on staff with the Philadelphia Eagles, spending one year as a defensive quality control analyst and another two years as an assistant defensive line coach.

He’s also had previous stops at Boston College, Akron and New Hampshire.
